Kohl’s Donates More Than $400,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

Children’s and Kohl’s Host Fun Fair to Help
Parents Prepare for Back to School

It’s back to school time, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Kohl’s helped parents and kids prepare for a healthy and safe school year by hosting the Kohl’s Cares for Kids Fun Fair on Saturday, August 5, to provide a fun atmosphere where parents were able to learn important information such as backpack safety, lunchbox nutrition and how to tell whether or not a child is too sick for school.

During the Fun Fair, Kohl’s announced a “healthy-sized” gift of $439,180 to help Children’s provide families with the resources they need to prevent illness and unintentional injury whenever possible. In addition to this year’s gift of $439,180, the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program has donated $920,276 over the last three years to the School Nurse Consultant/Liaison Program at Children’s, as well as the Kohl’s Activity Center at Children’s at Scottish Rite. The consultants/liaisons with the program provide school nurses across Georgia with the resources and support they need to provide specialized care to children with everyday health concerns, as well as those in need of a smooth transition following a hospitalization.
